1. General 1.1. The Flanders Soaring Cup (FSC) is hosted, under the responsibility of the flemish league of gliding clubs, by the clubs who organise the following contests listed here in chronological order: - Kempen Cup, hosted by the Kempische Aëroclub at EBWE - Kiewit Cup, hosted by Albatros Gliding Club at EBZH - Keiheuvel Cup, hosted by the Royal Aëroclub Keiheuvel at EBKH 1.2. The FSC ranking is determined by the cumulated rankings in these three regional contests(Cups). 1.3. All three Cups have the same weight in the FSC ranking. 1.4. Participating constitutes a significant advantage. 1.5. Each Cup uses the same criteria for Class division (see 2.2).
2. Class division 2.1. All gliders in the 2008 DAeC index list are allowed. 2.2. They are divided into the following classes: 2.2.1. Club Class: All gliders with a DAeC index equal to or greater than 98. 2.2.2. Sport Class: All gliders with a DAeC index equal to or greater than 98. 2.2.3. Sport-xpdr Class: All gliders with a DAeC index equal to or greater than 98 and with a transponder on board. Remark: For gliders with an index = 98 , the PIC can choose to fly in the Club, Sport or Sport-Xpdr class.
3. Participation modalities and conditions 3.1. The FSC is an international competition. Both national and foreign participants are welcome. 3.2. Minimal requirements for a Pilot in Command (PIC): see local regulations. 3.3. Teams: 3.3.1. Composition of a team: 3.3.1.1. No more than six persons per team, of which at least one PIC. 3.3.1.2. A team's composition will remain unchanged throughout the entire FSC. 3.3.1.3. A nominative list of the entire team is to be provided upon registration for the first Cup. 3.3.1.4. The team members are free to change the pilots of their participating glider, provided that they recruit from the team's aforementioned list of members. 3.4. All teams will commit to a single Class for the entire FSC. 3.5. Club Class gliders can only take part in the Club Class, even if equipped with a transponder. 3.6. A Sport-xpdr Class glider can also take part in the Sport Class if the transponder is not used. 3.7. A Sport Class glider cannot take part in the Sport-xpdr Class. 3.8. Any team is free to fly different gliders in the three Cups, as long as they remain within the Class it was registered in. 3.9. A team is NOT allowed to change gliders in the course of a single Cup. 3.10. It is not necessary for a team to take part in all three Cups in order to be listed in the FSC ranking. 3.11 When a team does not take part in one ore more Cups, it receives a fixed amount of points for each non-participation (see 4.5). 4. Scoring and ranking system 4.1. The FSC scoring system is based upon the rankings the teams have obtained in the respective Cups. 4.1. Ranking 1.1.1. The FSC scoring system is based upon the rankings the teams have obtained in the respective Cups. 1.1.2. For an equal ranking between 2 or more competitors, there will be a calculation of the average results of all competitions days for the involved competitors. (sum of all day results diveded by number of days, the lowest score wins) 4.2. A system of Inverse Evaluation is used, whereby the lowest score wins. 4.3. The sum of all rankings achieved in the Cups by any team, constitutes the FSC score of this team. 4.4. A team is listed in the FSC ranking as soon as its Cup score is greater than 0. 4.5. Non-participation in any of the three Cups will yield a score equal to that of the last ranked team in that Cup, plus three points. 4.6. In the event of Belgian Championships (BC) coinciding with one or more Cups, the BC ranking is inserted into that of the Cup(s) with which it coincides, according to the FSC Class division. 4.7. Rankings and Prizes are given to the team as a whole. One prize per team. 4.8. After each Cup a provisionary ranking is issued. 4.9. The final FSC ranking will be known immediately after the last Cup has ended. 4.10. The final ranking will be confirmed upon homologation of the respective Cups' results.
5. Publication and media 5.1. The FSC ranking will be available on a specifically dedicated website. 6. Jury 6.1. The jury consists of three voting members, i.e. the Competition Directors of the three organising Cups, plus a non-voting chairman. 6.2. Complaints concerning the FSC will be received by the jury chairman. They will be presented to the jury members. The chairman will then communicate the members' decision to the originator of the complaint. 6.3. The FSC jury will only discuss complaints relative to the FSC rules and their application. 6.4. Appeal against this decision is possible with the KBAC Sporting Committee.
7. Prize-giving 7.1. The FSC proclamation and prize-giving take place during the annual LVZC conference. 7.2. A trophy is awarded to the winner in each Class. 7.3. The FSC Trophy is a challenge trophy and is awarded to the respective Class winners for a period of one year. 7.4. The FSC Trophy is returned to the FSC organisers in the month of January following the prize-giving. 7.5. The FSC Trophy will always remain the property of the FSC organisers.
8. Disclaimer 8.1. By participating in the "Flanders Soaring Cup" contest, a pilot or team declares to accept these rules and their application. 8.2. In case of dispute or complaint, only the original rules (i.e. the Dutch text) will be used for reference.
